Inductive - Ultra Metal Face

Ultra robust precise sensing

Sensors based on Ultra-Metal-Face technology are one of the latest innovations from XECRO. These sensors are constructed with an ultrathick sensing face, made of stainless steel and have been designed to withstand even the heaviest mechanical impacts. The specific advantage of these sensors is to enable application engineers to achieve perfect positioning precision. In applications where parts need to be positioned, engineers typically select sensors with long sensing distances. This is logically done to avoid mechanical damage to the sensor; however, with increased sensing distances, environmental changes cause a detrimental effect on the repeatability of the switching point. Therefore, selecting sensors for accurate positioning has all too often become an un-avoidable compromise for many engineers. Inspired from our customer feedback, the Ultra-Metal-Face sensors approach this problem from a completely unique vantage point. These sensors have been down-tuned to short sensing distances of 1 mm only - on ferrous and non-ferrous metal (Factor-1). The combination of unseen industry robustness and a precise switching point offers a completely totally new and unique solution. The possibilities are endless - just drop a metal part on it and it works… precisely !
